After 15+ years leading teams and operations across executive leadership, education, and international development, I architected and now lead an MSSP-model Security Operations Center in an Azure cyber range, owning it from charter to live delivery across ~25 active contributors and six teams, and building its case-management backbone in Jira from the ground up. My hands-on work spans detection engineering and MITRE ATT&CK coverage, deception and honeypot operations, and real intrusion investigation, with generative AI (Claude, ChatGPT) as a daily delivery force-multiplier.

I'm completing a B.S. in Cybersecurity at WGU, with A+ certified and Security+ and Network+ in progress. I bring a people-first lens to technical problems, because understanding human behavior is the foundation of both great leadership and great security.

I’m Jenna Frank

I've had a winding road. I've helped start farms in East Africa, coordinated projects in a small town in Uganda, run a business, taught in a classroom, and now I build and defend security operations. On paper those look like different lives. To me they've always been the same work.

Wherever I've landed, the job has been this: walk into something complicated, learn it from the inside out, build the structure and the training that make it run, and bring people along with me. I'm the person who sees a tangle and starts quietly sorting it into a plan. And I've learned that the technical part is only ever half of it. The other half is people, understanding what they need, earning their trust, and helping them feel capable of something they weren't sure they could do.

That's what pulled me into cybersecurity. It's a field where getting the details right genuinely protects people, and where the human side, how we think, what we trust, where we're vulnerable, matters just as much as the technology. It turns out that everything I did before was preparing me for this. I just didn't know it yet.

SSH Honeypot Project

The SSH Honeypot Project is a high-interaction SSH honeypot that impersonates a high-value Solana validator node. Attackers who connect are dropped into a fully convincing fake Bash shell, complete with realistic process lists, wallet balances, validator logs, and canary files, while every keystroke is silently logged, GeoIP-enriched, AbuseIPDB-checked, and MITRE ATT&CK-tagged in real time.

Then the Easter eggs fire. And they will find them.

Built as a 30-day threat-intelligence research platform, designed to be studied, starred, and forked.

Active Directory Home Lab

Active Directory is the backbone of enterprise IT: it decides who you are, what you're allowed to do, and what systems you can access. Every time you badge in, log into a work laptop, or open a shared drive, Active Directory is working behind the scenes. Nearly every large organization runs it, and every cybersecurity professional needs to understand it.

This lab builds that environment from the ground up, on a personal computer at zero cost, using the same technologies found in corporate networks: a domain controller, file server, domain-joined client, an attacker box, and a SIEM for monitoring and alerting. Built for defenders, attackers, and everyone in between, with real attack paths, scripts, and detailed docs.

Security Operations Manager

Log(N) Pacific | Remote | Apr 2026 – Present

I architected and now lead the build of PacificWatch, an advisory, MSSP-model Security Operations Center on Microsoft Azure, inside a large cybersecurity training program. I own delivery end to end: scope, milestones, dependencies, risk, ownership, and leadership reporting, coordinating day-to-day work through six cross-functional teams (~25 active contributors and nine team leads) drawn from a ~100-person analyst community, with no formal reporting authority.

Built the SOC operating foundation: service model, analyst tiers, shift operations, incident-response procedures, detection-engineering program, threat-intelligence workstream, and operating documentation.
Designed a multi-client monitoring architecture across peered Azure VNets, with a Sentinel watchlist for client tagging and a cross-client lateral-movement detection.
Built and hardened an automated Sentinel to Logic Apps to Jira pipeline (REST API, webhooks, Key Vault credentials) that turns live detections into structured cases.
Delivered 27+ live KQL detection rules mapped to MITRE ATT&CK, each paired with an analyst playbook.
Resolved a 316-item ticket-queue flood in 24 hours and added thresholding and deduplication to reduce recurrence risk.
Use Claude and Claude Code daily to prototype workflows, analyze conflicts, and evaluate AI behavior.

A behind-the-scenes look at PacificWatch: selected architecture, automation, detection-engineering, case-management, and analyst-enablement work from the Security Operations Center I designed and lead.

Designed the end-to-end architecture connecting Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Azure Logic Apps, Key Vault, Jira, and analyst investigation.

Structured client-tagged monitoring across four environments and approximately 300 endpoints.

Validated MITRE ATT&CK-aligned detections and examined the resulting incidents in Microsoft Defender XDR.

Built the case-management workflow used to triage, assign, promote, and track security alerts.

Created role-specific guidance that helps developing analysts investigate consistently and escalate safely.

Paired detection rules with plain-language playbooks covering alert context, evidence collection, and escalation decisions.

IT Team Lead & Digital Solutions Ambassador (Cybersecurity and AI)

As IT Team Lead and Digital Solutions Ambassador, I led technology adoption and security education across Walmart locations, helping customers and associates get comfortable with new digital tools and safer online habits. My role combined hands-on technical support, team leadership, training, and clear communication.

What I did:

Technology adoption: Drove adoption of new digital and AI-enabled tools across roughly 10 Walmart stores, assisting about five people per working day and translating technical concepts into plain language.
Security awareness training: Trained roughly 30 staff and several hundred customers on multifactor authentication, password hygiene, account protection, QR-code awareness, and safer mobile-app use.
Consultative discovery: Read customer needs and hesitations through consultative conversation, then tailored demonstrations to the features that mattered most to each person.
Leadership & training: Directed a team of associates in executing events, keeping them knowledgeable, prepared, and focused on excellent customer support.
Feedback & reporting: Gathered and analyzed customer feedback to identify patterns and recommend process improvements.

Owner & Operations Manager

Well Beauty Studio | 2017-2023

Part owner and operations manager from 2017 to 2020, then full owner through 2023, of a 17-member studio. I ran the business end to end: P&L, operations, staffing, technology, client relationships, and a rigorously designed training program.

Built training curricula from scratch and oversaw hiring, onboarding, and continuing education, setting an unusually high bar for how consistently the team was trained and developed.

Sustained 93% client retention over six years and grew revenue 150% in a single year through business development and account growth.
Led three end-to-end SaaS implementations (scheduling, point-of-sale/reception, and client-management systems), owning requirements, vendor evaluation, data migration, rollout, and adoption.
Ran a low-toxicity- green beauty operation: researched and vetted every product for the lowest possible toxicity, and formulated and handmade many products in house, owning the sourcing and quality standard end to end.
Managed vendor selection, purchasing, and inventory, and built repeatable operating procedures and documentation.

Prime Harvest, Siaya, Kenya | 2011 - 2012

I was brought in to help launch large-scale industrial farming operations in emerging agricultural markets, starting in an assistant-director role and learning the entire operation from the ground up.

Rotated through every department of the farm to master end-to-end operations, from field production through processing and logistics.

Built a one-year training curriculum documenting the farm's full set of processes and operating standards.
Trained a cohort of 100+ agronomy graduates who would go on to lead operations at the organization's next site, a planned 75,000-acre farm in Nigeria.

Director of Spero Aspire

The Spero Project, Oklahoma | Oklahoma · circa 2009–2015

I created and directed Marked, a conference for marginalized women and children built on a simple idea: that people marked by poverty, pain, and suffering could instead be marked with hope. I hand-selected and vetted every participating nonprofit, each with a local Oklahoma connection, so attendees could give and volunteer with confidence.

Curated and vetted dozens of nonprofits, pairing keynote speakers on hard issues (harsh sentencing in Oklahoma, human trafficking) with organizations working directly on them, so education and action sat side by side.
Built a pipeline connecting attendees who wanted to help with vetted, locally-connected organizations to support.
Designed and delivered a week-long training program for the selected nonprofits, covering mental health, finances, and organizational growth, strengthening them beyond the event itself.
